Chapter 2 - E-Mail’s Unanswered Questions
One week later . . .
I logged on to the World Wide Web to check my email at http://moffattfans.zzn.com. There were 20 new messages! I scrolled down, checking messages off as I went. When the bottom of the screen was in sight, I pressed delete. The screen reloaded and I saw that I only had one message left. It was from Zac, the guy that I’d met at that hockey game a week ago. The subject line simply read "Hi!". I clicked on read.
Hey Nikki,
We didn’t really get to talk much when we last saw each other, so I’ll tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Zac Hanson. I am 12 years old. My birthday is on October the 22nd. My favourite colour is blue. I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters. That makes 9 people in my family.
I live in Oklahoma. The reason I was in Vancouver is because my Dad travels a lot with his job. He brings the whole family along when he is allowed so we can "see the world".
When I mentioned to my parents that I had met a girl who looked almost identical to me, they got all quiet. Weird, don’t you think?
Peace, love and bullet-proof marshmallows,
Zac
I closed Zac’s email and started to write a reply.
Zac,
How are you? I’m fine.
I told my parents about you too. They asked questions such as, ‘Is he nice? Do you like him?’ (They were teasing . . . I think.) and ‘What does he look like?’ When I told them what you looked like they changed the subject really quickly. Something weird is definitely going on.
Write back soon,
Nikki
P.S. My birthday is on October the 22nd too.
